Here is the answer to exactly what is recently updated in the World English Bible, including its derivative editions.

Date of changeDescription of change
18 April 2024Minor grammar correction in 1KI 3:23 ("the dead" to "the dead one").
15 April 2024Minor update to be more clear and avoid distractions in Church, necessitated by significant changes in English language usage: Updated "thong" to "strap" in Mark 1:7 and updated "thong" to "whip" in SIR 33:27.
29 March 2024Clarified language in MAN 1:8,14. Capitalization correction on "the" before "LORD" in GEN 16:5; EXO 32:14; LEV 10:8; NUM 5:21; 32:4; DEU 6:4; JDG 11:27; RUT 1:9; 2:4; 1SA 2:20; 1KI 13:2; 2KI 18:25; 22:18; 1CH 21:27; PSA 35:27; ISA 36:10; JER 6:21; 16:1; LAM 3:22. (The capitalization correction was not necessary in the classic WEB.)
21 March 2024Typo correction in HAG 2:13: touch -> touches
14 March 2024Changed some footnote formatting for better clarity.
7 March 2024Merged the "Updated" and regular versions of the World English Bible. Edited the Preface slightly to better represent that the World English Bible New Testament isn't 100% conformed to the Byzantine Majority Text Greek New Testament. (It is, however, conformed in the places where it matters the most.) WEBUK is now exactly the same as WEBBE, and WEBUK is removed as a separate edition. Updated capitalization of "Ancient of Days" in DAN 7:22 and DAG 7:22 for consistency with DAN 7:9; 7:13 and DAG 7:9 and DAG 7:13. Updated breast to chest in DAN 2:23; DAG 2:32; LUK 18:13; JHN 13:23; 21:20; 2ES 14:40; DAG 2:32. In the current online version, WEB and WEBU now only differ in footnotes and in the handling of the Tetragrammaton. WEBU and WEBBE now only differ in U. S. A. vs. British Commonwealth/International spelling.
22 February 2024Updated the Middle English "delivered" in PSA 7:4 to "plundered". This update also affecs the WEBBE, WEBC, WMB, and WMBB online due to its meaning being so significantly different in Modern English.
20 February 2024Updated "the Lord the LORD" in PSA 73:28 to "the Lord GOD". Updated "the Lord, the LORD" to "the Lord, GOD" in several places. This update also affecs the WEBBE, WEBC, WMB, and WMBB.
6 February 2024Made capitalization consistent for "Ancient of Days" in DAN 7:9, DAN 7:13, DAG 7:9, and DAG 7:13
17 January 2024Corrected missing "of" in Ezekiel 10:14. (Also done in WEB classic, since this was a typo correction.)
15 January 2024Changed breast->chest for males or crowds including males in JOB 32:19; DAN 2:32; LUK 23:48; JHN 13:23; JHN 13:25; JHN 21:20; 2ES 14:40; DAG 2:32. Added footnotes concerning the translation of "Yahweh" and "Yah".
15 January 2024Rolled back change to 1JN 2:32 in favor of eclectic reading in main text, moving MT rendering to footnote. See https://evangelicaltextualcriticism.blogspot.com/2018/04/two-important-shorter-byzantine.html for reasoning. This rollback makes the current electronic text closer to the printed versions. This rollback also applied to the WEB classic.
11 January 2024Split WEBU (World English Bible Update, USA spelling) and WEBUK (UK spelling) off from the main WEB project, using LORD or GOD instead of Yahweh in the main text for both. Going forward, this will (1) reduce fragmentation between editions of the World English Bible, and (2) be closer to the tradition of most English Bible translations. Those who prefer reading "Yahweh" in the text still have the classic World English Bible.
